Marcinkonys Church of Saints Simon and Jude Thaddeus and the churchyard with the Stations of the Cross

The church in Marcinkonys was built in 1770 and took its current form only in 1880. Its architecture reflects a harmonious blend of Gothic and Baroque styles. Notably, from 1871, Pastor Jonas Šoblickas served here; despite the authorities at the time, he began holding services in Lithuanian, distributed national press, and gathered a good local choir.
