Babriškės Church of St. Michael the Archangel and the Rosochacki Family Burial Complex

Babriškiai Church of St. Michael the Archangel has deep historical roots dating back to 1724 when the first chapel was established in the village. In 1838, a stone masonry chapel was built, where services were occasionally held. In 1942, the Marian monk Father Juozas Rakickas settled in Babriškiai; he added a wooden sacristy to the chapel and built a modest parsonage. After the Old Varėna church burned down in 1944, the parish temporarily moved to Babriškiai, and the old chapel was converted into a full-fledged church.
