MapThe wooden Church of the Crucified Jesus, standing in Akmens village near the banks of Merkys River, is one of the oldest rectangular wooden sanctuaries in Lithuania, built in 1759. Next to it stands an authentic two-tiered wooden bell tower, and the churchyard contains a cemetery. Nearby the sanctuary is the famous "Stone of the Cursed Maiden."
