We invite you to embark on a 13-kilometer hike “Path of poet Martynas Vainilaitis”

The route stretches through the Varėna pine forests, between the lakes Žiežulis and Ilgis. You will visit the village of Mergežeris, where you will also find the birthplace of Martynas Vainilaitis. The route is marked with blue hedgehogs, with their help you will not get lost even in the densest forest.

The beginning and end of the route:  Varėna District Municipality Public Library (Vytauto St. 19, Varėna).

The route is accessible all year round, 24 hours a day – hike whenever you wish.
