The cliff between the villages of Mančiagirė and Trakiškės is one of the most scenic sections of the Ūla River. At the top of the slope, there is a viewing platform that offers a panoramic view of the river, while the cliff itself is best seen from the bridge below. Nearby, tucked away in the shade of the trees, hides the Ūla’s Eye spring.
Between Zervynos and Mančiagirė, the Ūla River cuts through a massif of inland sand dunes. Easily carving into the sand, the river has formed a narrow canyon-like valley. Due to ongoing erosion, the slopes are constantly being reshaped — sand slides downward, carrying away vegetation trying to take root. These impressive cliffs have been declared a natural monument. The tallest cliff rises 28 meters above the river, with a slope angle of 34°. You can enjoy the view of the cliffs while paddling down the Ūla River, or reach them on foot by following the trail along the river’s right bank from Mančiagirė to Zervynos.
