Gaidzių galo Dune (Kloniai Hill)

Kloniai (Gaidžiai) Dune is one of the few remaining active inland dunes in Lithuania. Unlike most of Dzūkija's inland dunes, which have become forested and stable, this dune is still shaped by the wind. Formed after the last Ice Age, it continues to shift slowly, covering nearby vegetation with white sand. The dune supports specialized plants adapted to dry, nutrient-poor sandy habitats, including grey hair-grass (Corynephorus canescens).
