Dzūkija National Park Visitor Center in Marcinkonys

Located in the heart of Dzūkija National Park, in the village of Marcinkonys, this is the headquarters of both the Dzūkija National Park and the Čepkeliai State Strict Nature Reserve.

The Marcinkonys Visitor Centre features a permanent exhibition titled "Surrounded by Forests: Nature and People of Dainava Forest", offering insights into the region’s unique biodiversity and local cultural heritage.

Visitors can:

  • Get information on hiking and cycling trails, local attractions, accommodation in rural homesteads, and places to eat (including traditional Dzūkian dishes),

  • Learn about upcoming events, guided tours, and nature-based or ethnocultural educational activities (e.g., nature lessons, hikes, camps, straw or wicker weaving, candle making),

  • Purchase souvenirs and publications related to the park and its environment.

The centre is an excellent starting point for exploring the natural and cultural richness of southern Lithuania.
