Merkinė Town Boundary Markers

Now classified as a town, Merkinė was once a prominent city, bustling with life, trade, and creativity. It frequently hosted rulers of Lithuania and Poland.

The town’s boundaries, located along the outgoing roads, were marked with four brick pillars bearing the town’s coat of arms. Today, two of these historical boundary markers still remain and can be seen with your own eyes.
