Brickyard of Grand Duchy of Lithuania (LDK plytinė) is located in the village of Krūminiai and is the only place in Lithuania where bricks and roof tiles are made using ancient techniques from the 14th–19th centuries — mixing clay, shaping it in wooden molds, and firing it at high temperatures in a kiln.
The brickworks offers interactive educational tours, including the chance to shape your own brick, ride a wooden horse or a brick cart, and explore a historical brick-firing kiln.
Clay Workshops feature 5 pottery wheels where visitors can take throwing lessons. Participants can also sculpt traditional tiles and other ceramic items, glaze them, and have them fired in an electric kiln.
Next to the main area, there is a covered shelter with a tea corner, pizza oven, and campfire site — perfect for enjoying freshly baked pizzas and meals in the forest.
Outdoor Adventures:
A scenic hike through the hills includes visiting a sacrificial stone and crossing a gorge via a cable.
30 bicycles are available for forest trails, offering routes through picturesque wooded landscapes.
10 stand-up paddleboards can be used sitting or standing on the 20-hectare Verseka pond.
3 downhill tracks for two-person trikes — steered by feet and braked with hands — with a lift system to carry the trikes uphill.
A children’s playground with swings, exercise equipment, and trampolines.
Winter Activities:
The site includes skiing infrastructure with two lifts, lighting, a teahouse, and ski facilities. Snow is produced on-site, allowing for an early and extended ski season. Visitors can enjoy Alpine sledding on Austrian sleds and two separate tubing tracks. Equipment rentals include skis, ski boots, and helmets.
LDK Brickworks offers a unique blend of history, craft, and active recreation — all year-round.
